AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says Tottenham Hotspur deserved to lose

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur were inferior to the Rossoneri during their Champions League round of 16 second leg encounter at White Hart Lane.
Speaking after the match, Ibrahimovic said, “We played well, but didn't get the goal, which was the only thing we were lacking this evening. Over two legs Tottenham had one shot on goal and scored. The best team doesn't always win.”
AC Milan had a glorious chance to score early on in the match. An error by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heurelho-Gomes-c16173 left the goal wide open, and only William Gallas’ heroic goal line clearance prevented AC Milan from taking the lead on the night. The events at White Hart Lane have
left the striker disappointed, but he maintains that his side will bounce back.
Ibrahimovic added, “I am satisfied with my performance and everyone in the team played well. I tried to score, but the ball would not cross the line. It's a shame we went out of the Champions League, but we still have the Scudetto and Coppa Italia to focus
on.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029 had a largely ineffective outing at White Hart Lane. The same could be said for the rest of the AC Milan squad. The visitors just could not find the key to unlocking the stubborn Spurs defence. To their credit, Tottenham made it extremely
difficult for the Rossoneri to get in behind them. On the few occasions that Milan did get a shot at goal, goalkeeper Gomes came to Tottenham’s rescue.
Despite the poor performance, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic still insists that AC Milan were the better side on the night. He revealed his disappointment at losing to an allegedly inferior side, but he maintained that the Italian giants are still in with a
shot of winning silverware in the current 2010-11 season.
AC Milan are currently leading the Serie A standings with 61 points. The Italian giants look poised to go all the way to a season title, especially since their nearest competitors are five points off the pace.
