The Diavolo director Ariedo Braida confirms the Rossoneri’s interest in the Genoa player but insists the focus is on whipping the Gialloblu in the upcoming clash.
AC Milan chief has admitted that the club has been keeping a close eye on Genoa defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andreas-Granqvist-c5728, and are gearing up to bid for the player in the summer transfer window.
The Swedish International is currently a guardian at Genoa, and the team along with the player is set to clash with the Rossoneri in the upcoming league game.
The Gialloblu defender is apparently a good option for the Rossoneri, and along with adding quality to the Rossoneri squad, the player will also serve to refresh the team’s defence line. Currently, the three main defenders for the Diavolo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluca-Zambrotta-c14831, are all over the age of 35.
Ariedo Braida admitted that the he has personally looked upon the defender as a good option for the club, and insisted that club is interested in acquiring the services of the Genoa player. The director for the Milan outfit was all praise for the budding star, stating that the guard seems like a promising prospect for the future.
However, the chief refused to confirm if the club will bid for the player at the end of the ongoing season. The Rossoneri official insisted that it will be unprofessional of him to talk about the issue in specific terms, with the match between the two teams looming over their heads.
The Milan executive went on to say that the real focus of the team for now is the upcoming game against Genoa, and insisted that the team will concentrate only on how to capture the three points from the contest.
While talking to a Swedish newspaper Expressen, Ariedo Braida said:
“It’s true, I tracked Granqvist many times and we are interested in the player. He is an excellent player and seems like a good lad. Is it true we will try to sign him this summer? It doesn’t seem fair to talk about these issues now, especially as we are facing Genoa tomorrow, so it wouldn’t be professional to discuss their players. Now we will concentrate only on the game.” He added.
AC Milan will host the Gialloblu in their next Serie A match on Saturday, 14 April 2012.
