AC Milan trying to bring back Paolo Maldini to the club – Serie A news
Serie A giants AC Milan owner and Italian president, Silvio Berlusconi says that he is trying to bring back their legend Paolo Maldini to the club by offering him a position soon.
The 42-year-old retired from football in 2009 after he spent his entire footballing career with the Rossoneri but it has been speculated that he may be given a coaching position or some sort of directorial position at the club.
While talking to the media, Berlusconi said that he is looking to bring in one of the best defenders of all time to the San Siro. He said, “We are working for his return to the club.” The Milan supremo also underlined the objective for the season that he
expects manager Massimiliano Allegri to deliver them a Scudetto by the end of the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Furthermore, the Milan owner also dismissed suggestions that there is a notion of animosity between him and former Milan manager Leonardo. At the end of the previous season, Leonardo was sacked as Milan manager and he later on joined reigning Serie A champions

The addition of Paolo Maldini in a coaching role at Milan would definitely be a big boost for the club that is still looking to regain its lost place in European football.
Maldini spent 25 years at the San Siro from 1986 to 2009 and made over 647 appearances for the Italian giants. In a glittering career with the Rossoneri, Maldini won 7 Scudettos, one Coppa Italia, 5 European trophies and one FIFA Club World Cup.
He captained the Italian national team from 1994 to 2002 and for his services to Italian football, he was given the Order of Merit 4th class in 2000. On the eve of his retirement, Maldini said that he will not be seeking a career in coaching.
In 2009, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 boss Carlo Ancelotti offered him a coaching position with the London giants but Maldini declined the offer.
However, it seems that he may be tempted by Berlusconi’s offer as the Italian president is desperate to bring in the veteran back to the footballing world.
