Milan kicked off the second half at San Siro as Robinho was almost played in by Genaro Gattuso. The Brazilian forward passed the ball to Van Bommel inside the Napoli penalty area but the Dutchman was evidently pulled to the ground. However the referee waved
play on as he failed to spot infringement on the Bayern Munich loanee.
In the 48th minute of the match, A.C Milan took the lead courtesy of a controversial penalty kick by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029. The referee gave the penalty kick as a result of a hand ball by Mascara near the touch line inside the Napoli penalty area.
Despite severe protests by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003’s defensive line, the referee persisted with his decision and Ibrahimovic made no mistake from the spot as the score line reached 1-0 to the home side.
In the aftermath of the penalty kick, the referee showed a yellow card to Aronica who was a bit too enthusiastic with his rebel-like attitude.
In the 52nd minute, Milan almost found their second goal of the match as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 full back pulled the ball back into the Napoli penalty area towards Ibrahimovic but De Sanctis came
out to gather the pass as Milan was denied a clear goal scoring opportunity by the Napoli goal keeper.
Napoli found it hard to get going in the second half especially after the early A.C Milan goal which clearly shell shocked them. They found it hard to get their passing together in the midfield area as Hamsik and Co. made several mistakes which allowed Gattuso
and Flamini to regain control of the ball time and again.
In the 55th minute of the match, Pato took the game by the scruff of the neck as the Brazilian striker went past his marker before unleashing a powerfully hit drive towards the away sides’ goal. However, De Sanctis was on form to acrobatically
deny Milan their second goal of the match.
In the 60th minute, Milan was on the attack yet again. This time Robinho was played in by Pato who was once again impervious in his offensive approach. The Brazilian was denied his first goal of the match thanks to another wonderful save by De
Sanctis.
In the 62nd minute of the second half, Robinho was substituted by A.C Milan. The Brazilian trequartista was replaced by Kevin Prince Boateng. This change was also accompanied by the tactical shift for the Rossoneri as Boateng played in a withdrawn
role rather than a traditional No.10 role that Robinho was playing in.
The Ghanaian midfielder’s introduction meant that Milan played as a four man midfield for the rest of the match whereas Pato and Ibrahimovic carried on with their striking roles.
