The Bianconeri boss, in a spirited speech to his team, insists that he fear complacency will find its way into the team amidst the praise; urges his team to get ready for sweat and sacrifice.
Antonio Conte reportedly made a 12-minute motivational speech to his Juventus troops, ahead of the thickening battle with AC Milan for the Scudetto, and media is speculating on the exact words of the tactician.
The Bianconeri are two-points behind the leaders Rossoneri in the run to the Serie A title, and spoke to the team in order to fire them up for last eight games left till the end of the season.
The Old Lady Chief beamed that his team is going to make it utterly difficult for the champions to go through to the Scudetto. The former midfielder warned his team of the sweet poison held by the praise that was all around them, and insisted that he fears
that the commendations will fill their hearts with smugness that can prove fatal for the title challenge.
While talking to his lads, the Vecchia Signora boss allegedly said:
“Milan will have to spit blood until the very end to win the championship. People are flooding us with praise right now, but that sends shivers through me. Why? Because I have fear, I have fear, I have fear that someone here will start to relax.”
The former Siena man insisted that the applause is only a mirage, to distract them from the reality that they owe their brilliant run in the season to sweat and sacrifice put in by everyone. The tactician pointed out that the team has not achieved anything
yet, and the trophy still demands a lot of hard work from them all.
“There is applause and a consensus, but what is the reality? The reality is the pitch, the reality is sweat, the reality is sacrifice. That is what has led us to this point of the championship and we still haven’t done anything yet.”
Conte went on to say that they are against a very stout adversary, and insisted that his side will have to spit blood till the last game of the season to emerge as victors, from the crunch battle for the Serie A title.
