AC Milan wins their 18th Scudetto after 7 years: Roma vs. AC Milan – Italian Serie A Review (Part 2)
As the first half was close to its end, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 tried to breach Milan’s defensive walls again.
It was Fabio Simplicio who played a perfect pass to Aleandro Rosi. Rosi came on for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Matteo-Brighi-c24784 in the first half when Brighi got injured.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Abbiati-c9046.
Abbiati did well to save the shot and allowed Milan to remain in the game.
Seconds before the half time whistle, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Simplicio had another great opportunity as he took his chances on goal from long range.
Simplicio received the ball right outside the 18 yard box because of a defensive error and he made sure to make it count. Simplicio took his shot on goal but it was saved by Abbiati who was tremendous throughout the game.
AC Milan dominated possession throughout the first half but the better chances were falling through for the Roman side.
Even though Roma looked to be the favourites to score the first goal of the game, Milan were defending well and with a clean sheet in the first half, it looked as if they were going to win the league title that night.
With the second half kicking off, AC Milan moved a gear up and tried to breach the Roman defensive walls. Even though the league leaders were not really a threat during the first half, they almost found themselves a goal up as the second half started.
It was the Brazilian winger, Robinho, who decided to make a solo effort on goal.
After collecting the ball right outside the box, Robinho got past Cassetti and perfectly curled the ball in on goal. The Roman goalkeeper had absolutely no chance of blocking the shot as he stood still but was miraculously saved as the ball struck the post.
It was a phenomenal effort by Robinho but he was just unlucky to be unable to score.
After a few seconds, Milan came back to their goal scoring ways. The Diavolo won a free kick on the sideline and the Dutch midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Clarence-Seedorf-c9275, stepped up to take it.
Seedorf lobbed the ball over all the Roman players as the second half substitute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Massimo-Ambrosini-c24579, pounced on the ball to head it towards the goal.
The shot was well taken and seemed to be finding the back of the net but it struck the Brazilian defender Juan and went out for a corner kick.
AC Milan wanted to end the game as they looked to be refreshed after the break. They were being a threat to the Roman goal and after a few minutes the Swedish striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029, tried to score a goal for the Rossoneries.
Ibrahimovic received a perfect through ball from Kevin Prince Boateng. The former Portsmouth midfielder was the architect in the move as he got past two Roman midfielders and delivered a perfect ball for the Swedish goal scorer. Ibrahimovic tried to go around
the goalkeeper but he was brought down by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Doni-c11553.
