AC Milan’s Silvio Berlusconi suggests Alexandre Pato should adapt to a more central role – Serie A news
The Italian president and AC Milan owner, Silvio Berlusconi, has voiced his opinion about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901 that the striker should be given the centre forward’s role. He also reserved praise for manager Massimiliano Allegri, who has brought Milan on the verge
of their 18th Scudetto.
Berlusconi claimed that Allegri has already proved his mettle in the very first season as the AC Milan manager, claiming that a Scudetto triumph in the very first season with a club is always a big achievement. The President added that AC Milan have been
decent this campaign as they are just a point away from the title and they could also grab the Coppa Italia. The only disappointment that came their way was an early exit from UEFA Champions League at the hands of European debutants, Tottenham Hotspur, in
the round-of-16.
The club owner believed that Pato could do wonders in the central position than on the wings. The striker is usually deployed on the wings by Allegri, which according to Berlusconi is a waste of the Brazilian’s talent.
There have been a lot of people commenting upon the partnership of Pato and Swedish International http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Zlatan-Ibrahimovic-c38029, and the 74-year-old President insisted that the Brazilian has already proved his worth.
Further commenting upon Pato’s talent, the owner said, "[Pato] has already established himself. He is a player of immense talent who just needs to learn what his best position is. He likes picking up the ball from deep and from the wings, but seven times
out of 10 he's unable to reach the edge of the area, where he is lethal. He should play as a centre-forward and not off the front man."
The 74-year-old was also delighted at Milan’s outstanding form this season and applauded the efforts of Massimiliano Allegri who has restored lost belief and confidence amongst the Rossoneri ranks.
Berlusconi concluded his generous comments for Allegri by saying, "He can continue this club's line of great coaches. He has all the qualities required - ability and character. He can lead us to great things."
AC Milan are currently on top of the Serie A table with 77 points and are just one point adrift of securing the title. They are left with three games to play in the campaign, which will draw curtains on Milan’s outstanding season.
