The Brazilian stopper clarified that his previous comments have been taken out of context and reaffirmed his desire to become a club legend at the San Siro.
Rumours linking AC Milan defender, Thiago Silva, with Barcelona picked up speed on Tuesday as the centre-back coyly suggested playing for the reigning European champions will be a dream.
"It is the dream of every player to wear the shirt of Barcelona.”
"I'm aware [of the rumours] through the media and friends, who tell me that Barcelona is interested in me.
"We have no formal proposal but you never know what might happen in the future.”
However, the 27-year-old has stated that he does not want to leave the San Siro-based outfit and came out in the open to clarify his stance.
Silva explained that he harbours no ambitions of leaving the 7-time European champions, and the club CEO, Adriano Galliani, should not fear for his future.
Reaffirming his desire to do well with the reigning Italian champions, the Brazilian star stated that he wants to follow in the footsteps of Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi, and wants to be a club legend in Milan.
"I do not have any intention of leaving Milan," he told AC Milan's official website.
"I like the idea of becoming a symbol of this club, following the path of greats such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Franco-c14050 Baresi and Paolo Maldini.
"[Milan CEO http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 are just a rival for me."
Silva continues to be linked with big European clubs with assured displays at the back for AC Milan. The Brazilian international has been linked with Barcelona for over 18 months now, and the flirtations between the two parties continue to grab the
headlines.
In the current campaign, La Blaugrana have been let down by their defence, especially on their away travels. From 12 fixtures on the road, the Camp Nou-based outfit have dropped 16 points which has alerted the sporting staff in Catalonia.
While age is catching up with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 seems to be the perfect fit for the
current European Champions.
