AC Siena coach Antonio Conte favourite for Juventus job next season
Reports from Italy suggest that Antonio Conte is the most likely replacement for Juventus FC tactician, Luigi Del Neri. The Juventus boss is expected to exit the Turin giants by the end of the ongoing season.
Antonio Conte is currently coaching the Serie B outfit A.C Siena. Siena have put up an outstanding performance this season under Conte and have made it to the second spot in Serie B, the Italian second division. The Robur are just three points behind league
leaders Atalanta and are likely to earn promotion to the top flight of Italian football. Conte has been praised for his coaching abilities and has been given a lot of credit for Seina’s brilliant run this season.
The coach of Russian Premier League team FC Zenit Saint Petersburg, Luciano Spalletti and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-c13152 Capello are also top contenders for the spot. Juventus might find it difficult to lure any of the two as both are currently under
contract at their respective jobs.
Juve are also considering http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 boss Walter Mazzarri. He was thought of as the best replacement but recent reports in the Italian press suggest Mazzarri is out of the race since he is under contract until 2013. Another option available is the former Genoa
tactician Gian Piero Gasperini, who also has experience of working at the Juventus academy.
The unavailability of most of the top choices has automatically made Antonio Conte the favourite for the managers role at Juventus. Conte is a former Juventus player and is remembered as one of the most decorated players at the outfit. Conte played for Juve
from 1992 until 2004 and captained the side in the 2002-03 Champions League final. The former midfielder has good knowledge of the outfit and knows what kind of strategy is required in the Serie A.
Conte is the type of tactician that Juve would be looking for at the moment as they have not been able to challenge the top runners in the Serie A. The Old Lady, under the coaching of Antonio Conte could flourish and become a tougher competitor next season.
