ACC week four: Preview
The fourth week is set to being in the Atlantic Coast Conference and it still remains unclear who will be challenging for the title. Week four features several inter-conference match-ups, while also offering
fans some much anticipated conference play.
Preview
North Carolina State vs. Georgia Tech
North Carolina State will visit Georgia Tech in their week four engagement.
North Carolina State is currently sitting at 3-0 after defeating the Cincinnati Bearcats last week. Carolina will be facing their stiffest test this weekend against Georgia Tech, but should be able to handle
the Yellow Jackets.
Georgia Tech sits at 2-1 with a 1-0 record against ACC competition after defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels last week. With a fairly easy schedule, until they take on Virginia Tech and Miami in November,
Georgia will be keen to make the most of September and October.
Virginia Tech vs. Boston College
Virginia Tech will visit Boston College in the second conference match-up of the week.
Virginia Tech had a slow start to the season going 0-2 to start the year. However, last week they looked to have finally found their form against East Carolina. Sitting at 1-2 the Hokies will need to run
the table until they meet Miami at the end of November.
Boston College sits at 2-0 and will face their toughest test in week four, after defeating Weber State and Kent State to start the season.
Florida International vs. Maryland
Florida International will visit Byrd Stadium to play Maryland this weekend.
Sitting at 0-2 this season and 0-1 on the road Florida will have a very difficult time stealing a victory from Maryland.
Maryland sits at 2-1 and is a perfect 2-0 at home this season. The Terrapins suffered a loss to West Virginia last week and will be focused on getting back in the win column this weekend.
Virginia Military Institute vs. Virginia
Virginia will host Virginia Military Institute in their week four engagement.
Virginia Military sits at 1-1 in the Big South, but will have an incredible challenge when they travel to Scott Stadium to take on Virginia.
The Virginia Cavaliers sit at 1-1 after suffering a loss to USC in week two. Nevertheless, they should be able to get a win on Saturday against a much weaker opponent.
Army vs. Duke
Army will visit Duke in their week four match-up.
Army is currently 2-1 with wins over Eastern Michigan and North Texas, while having suffered a loss to Hawaii. Army has a good chance of stealing a victory over Duke, but will have to play well on the road.
Duke will be interested in bouncing back after two straight losses to Wake Forest and Alabama. The Blue Devils will be hoping to move forward in week four with their second win of the year.
Wake Forest vs. Florida State
Wake Forest will visit Florida State at Doak Campbell Stadium in week four action.
Wake Forest is coming off their first loss of the season to Stanford, a 68-24 mauling, and will be keen to get back on track as their schedule continues to get more challenging throughout October.
Florida State sits at 2-1, having suffered their only loss of the season to no. 10 Oklahoma. The Seminoles are the favourites heading into Saturday and should build on last week’s victory over Brigham Young.
North Carolina vs. Rutgers
Rutgers will welcome North Carolina in an inter-conference match-up on Saturday.
Rutgers sit at 2-0 after wins over Norfolk State and Florida International and are set to face their toughest challenge against Carolina on Saturday.
At the beginning of the season Carolina would have been the overwhelming favourite in this game. However, after starting 0-2 and with half of their defence suspended the Tar Heels will be in tough against
a competitive Rutgers side.
