North Carolina vs. Georgia Tech
North Carolina is coming off a loss to LSU after being considered by many as a contender in the BCS this season. The game against Georgia Tech is an important one for the Tar Heels as they look to legitimize their footballs program.
Georgia Tech sits at 1-1 after suffering a loss last week at the hands of the Kansas Jayhawks. Tech has yet to see an ACC opponent this season and will be hoping that their strong running game will lead them to a second victory.
Maryland vs. #21 West Virginia
Maryland will have their hands full with a 21st ranked West Virginia side. Nevertheless, Maryland looked strong in their two games so far this season, defeating Morgan State last week and Navy in the season opener.
West Virginia enjoyed two easy wins to start the season, embarrassing Costal Carolina in their opener and then defeating Marshall last week. The Mountaineers should have no trouble with the Terrapins as they currently sit first in the Big East.
East Carolina vs. Virginia Tech
East Carolina are 2-0 and have been playing strong football, but have yet to be challenged after winning their opening two matches against Tulsa and Memphis. However, they will face their stiffest challenge this weekend.
Virginia Tech came into the 2010 season with high hopes. In their first week they played a tough game against Boise State losing by only three. However, in week two they suffered a devastating loss to James Madison. Virginia’s BCS hopes may be shattered, nevertheless
if they have any shot they will need to defeat ECU.
BYU vs. Florida State
Florida State will be looking to bounce back after suffering a loss to #10 Oklahoma last week. Although BYU should not present a major obstacle for Florida they will be looking to get their game on track in time for next week’s match-up against ACC-leading
Wake Forest.
BYU come over to Florida from the MWC and will try and get their second win of the season. Coming fresh off a loss to Air Force they will be hoping to upset Florida State on the road.
#1 Alabama vs. Duke
Duke is 1-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play and therefore sits at the bottom of the ACC standings. Unfortunately, Duke stands little chance against a number one ranked Alabama side.
Alabama should control play at Wallace Wade Stadium, earning their third win of the year. The big story heading into Saturday’s engagement is the return of Heisman Trophy winning running back Mark Ingram.
Clemson vs. #16 Auburn
Clemson will be looking to take advantage of their strong running game, which has them ranked 24th in the nations in the category. Nevertheless, they will face a tough challenge against a 2-0 Auburn side.
Auburn comes over from the SEC to play a Clemson team with a perfect early-season record. Nevertheless, this should be a victory for the nations 16th ranked side and Clemson should not pose any real threat after wins over Arkansas State and Mississippi State.
Wake Forest vs. #19 Stanford
Wake Forest will put their perfect record up on the road against the PAC-10’s Stanford. Wake has put up major offensive numbers in the first two week. However, Stanford will be their first true test, having only played Duke and Presbyterian so far.
Stanford currently sits at 2-0 overall and 1-0 against PAC-10 opponents. Wake Forest should not present a real problem to the nations 19th-seeded side.
