  1. I don't know about the SAT, but the ACT score is not good. I think the average is about a 22 or so. It takes at least a 24 to get into most universities.

  2. Those scores are not good at all, the average ACT score is 22 and less than 500 on each SAT section is below average. You should study more and then take the tests again. Also, it depends on what type of school you are applying to. Some lower demanding schools might accept your grades.

  3. I think the lowest you can get on the ACT is a 14...so that could definitely use some improvement.

And the SAT, lowest is 200....so you could study some more for that too...

If you did this without studying, i would suggest that you just study over the summer and take the tests in the fall. The studying, though it doesnt seem worth it now, will be when you get a scholarship because the college of your choice sees potential..

    Good luck!

  4. I don't know much about the ACT, I only took the SAT.

In general, your scores are not "great" but they could get you into some colleges. You do not have a chance at a competitive school with those scores. There are plenty of colleges that you could get into though. It really depends on what you want to do.

You should go to collegeboard.com and search for colleges that you are interested in. The website will show you the middle 50% SAT scores from that school. I would suggest going to that website, to find colleges with a score range containing your scores.

My suggestion would be to retake the test in October, and STUDY. Studying DOES help. Just get a practice book at your local library and take some practice tests or review each part of the exam. Try to practice pacing yourself. You only have 20-25 min per section. I did that and it helped so much! You will feel so much more confident about yourself on the exam day as well.

If all does not go well, remember: The SAT is not everything. Many colleges do not even require SAT test scores for admission! So if you feel like these scores do not reflect your abilities, try applying to a school that does not require test scores.

    Good Luck!

PS: collegeboard shows average college ACT scores too!

Don't feel bad about your scores. You can take these tests again to reach your score goal! I knew I guy who also did not break 1000 with his math and english scores. Now he has a PhD. Just try again and you'll do better! Remember what I said about the studying. It really helps!
