ACT books?

Okay, which book would you guys recommend as most effective for tackling the ACT? The one book that I'm getting for sure is "The Real ACT," because that was created by the test -makers themselves, but I also need a book to help me strategize and learn the sections. Should I buy the Princeton Review, Barron's, Kaplan, ACT for Dummies? I heard many of these provide practice tests that do not mirror the actual exam. Which have you tried, and has it helped? I don't want to buy a book that's too easy and be surprised on test day, so please help. Thanks a lot. I really have to ace this test.

  1. I use Kaplan's book, and it is excellent.  The practice tests are harder than the real ACT, and your practice test score will be lower than your real ACT score.

If you're taking the June 14 ACT (as I am), good luck next week!  Remember, you don't have to do amazingly the first time.  You just need to have a pretty good score.
