  1. I'll answer your questions in order.

    1. How to get the highest score:  I hate to break it to you, but it's close to impossible to get a perfect score.  However, you can still get a very good score and be in the top percentages of ACT-takers nationwide.  Here is a link to a table on ACT's website, which shows what percentile a certain score will be in:

        http://www.actstudent.org/scores/norms1....

    2. Classes to take:  If your school offers them, take as many honors and AP classes as you can handle.  These will prepare you for the level of difficulty in readings and problems.

    3. Advice about the test:  You don't have to get every question right (or close to it) to get a great score.  Make sure your calculator isn't prohibited (for a list of prohibited calculators, check out http://www.actstudent.org/faq/answers/ca... ).  Have plenty of pencils.  Get a good night's sleep the night before and eat a good breakfast.

    4. Prep books:  I recommend Kaplan's ACT prep book, which I used when I took the ACT.  Kaplan's book gives strategies, has a math glossary, and has 3 full-length practice tests (complete with essay prompts).  The score projected will be within about a 2 point range of what you'll get on the actual test.

    5. Benefits of higher ACT scores:  As your ACT score increases, the amount of scholarship money you receive will also increase.  The 3 major benchmarks for scholarships are 28, 31, and 33.

    Good luck!

  2. When i took it i dont recall there really being study guides but i would not be suprised if there was try the ACT site. But i recall the science section haveing biology and chemistry in it. Also id assume the english courses your high school will require wil cover the english portion and for math id say try to get up to statistics but algebra two should be fine.
