Question:

ACT science section?

I'm a 14 year old with an ACT composite score of 32. I would like to obtain a score of 35 or higher by junior year, but I'm slightly concerned that my science score (27) will pull my composite score down. I haven't taken all the high school science courses (ex: biology) yet, but I'm not sure if taking science courses will significantly increase my science score. Basically, I'm wondering whether the science section in the ACT primarily tests one's ability to interpret graphs and tables, or if it just tests one's scientific knowledge.

Thank you! :)

  1. wow...congrats on you score...that's pretty impressive....i think that you'll be fine...as you get older...it could be from the classes that you take but you'll get better at taking standardized tests like the ACT...and in your science classes that you'll take as a freshman, sophomore and junior, you'll probably become more acquainted with interpreting graphs and tables and get more practice with it, thereby improving you science section score
