ACT test review?

I am looking for a good and accurate prep book for the ACT other than the Peterson's "Real ACT Prep Guide." Anyone have any suggestions? I was going to get barrons but the questions in barron are known for being insanely harder than the test actually is. I heard sparknotes also has a book?

  1. Barron's over prepares you, but hey, when you get thank good score, you'll thank Mr. Barron.

  2. Well, I've read reviews on different books, so here they are: For the Princeton Review, the practice exams do not mirror the actual exam, and their reading strategies are not useful, but they are good for the other sections. Kaplan is good, and thier practice exams are much harder than the actual test, so if you do bad on a practice exam in a Kaplan book, chances are you'll do better on the actual exam. Barron's are always harder than the actual test, as is the material they set out. ACT for dummies, I heard was decent, but you'll have to check that out for yourself, because I'm not too sure. I, myself, will probably get the Princeton Review (they apparently have bad tips for the reading section, so its up to you to use thier strategies) and Kaplan. Also, of course, "The Real ACT Prep" by Petersons. You may want to check out "amazon.com" and type in ACT. There, they'll show you the books and the comments the people left as to if the book helped or not, but it does depend on the type of person you are and where your difficulty lies. Good luck! Just remember to take practice exams, they're very important.
