Okay, which is harder, the ACT, or the SAT IIs (specifically chem. and math 1)? Is the ACT hard? How hard is it to score in the 30s? Thanks for the help.

  1. you can't really compare the ACT to the SAT subject tests (SAT IIs). the SAT IIs are in a particular subject whereas the ACT has reading, writing, math, and science. it is similar to the SAT (reasoning test). Even though it has science, you don't need to know anything about the subject to get the questions right. It is about if you can read graphs and scientific info rather than your scientific knowledge.

  2. 800s on SAT2 is definitely more impressive than high ACT since SAT2 is more specialized and difficult. It should be easy to score in the 30's if you have A/B average.

Math 1 is about same. Chem definitely SAT2 harder.
