Question:

ADDICTED TO FOOD?????? help!

I'm 14, and I try to be as healthy as possible, but sometimes that doesn't work out. I was throwing out some junk food today, and all of a sudden I started digging into a jar of peanut butter. I tried to stop, but I just couldn't! That's not the first time I've gone overboard and couldn't control myself. I don't do that all the time, but when I do eat too much of something, I feel fat and regret it moments later. I think of the consequences as I eat, but I can't stop! What's wrong with me? Please give me some advice to be able to control myself!!!!

  1. ha, that happens to me sometimes. just have self control, and if you pig out try to pig out on things that are healthy.  and just get some excerise, becasue that will make you feel way better. everynight i jog for about 20 minutes, and it makes me feel great even if i had just pigged out on junk lol good luck (:


  2. y wont u try to get out of your house and go to a park and take your time off of food or get a hobby  

  3. Your not eating regular meals at the correct times of day? Or you eat comfort food as you may be down or stressed? Or your just plain bored?

  4. Girl I know exactly how you feel. But you know what???? When your eating that food, just stop and think "Food is always going to be here. But my good health wont." Thats what I do when i find myself like this. It's ok to have junk food once n a while, but not all the time. There's nothing wrong with you...so dont ever think that it is.

  5. I know what that's like. To stay healthy and fit, I started chewing on ice to keep my mouth occupied. No calories or anything, and it keeps off my food cravings.

Lol, you sound a bit like me!  But now, when i go out to eat i will get a salad, or something healthy.  And when i go to the fridge ill grab some fruit or salad instead of the chips i know i want.  Also drink water when your hungry, because when you cut down on food, food stops sounding so tempting.  Eventually you will not always need to eat and will be able to eat when you need to.  And when you want to eat alot just eat fruits, salads, and dont forget you vitamins!=)

  7. why do you have to keep eating it, if you have already put it in your mouth about five times. Once you have eaten the food five bites or five spoons or forks, tell yourself STOP! Then immediately put the food away. Munching on snacks is not bad, just make sure its not execessive and unhealthy. Don't eat too much potato chips or cake, try a banana with the peanut butter, or some cheese with crackers.

  10. I have the same problem that you have, and i also feel fat after i eat.

    If the only thing that you want is a small snack, then have it but eat it very slowly so you can enjoy the flavor better. Plan the amount of food that you're gonna have and when you finish it try having a nice glass of water so it takes the flavor of the food and you don't feel like you need more.  Also sheck out wiki how it might help you.
