  1. I'd go tomorrow if it wasn't for my kids all mid-education.

  2. Adelaide is wonderful.

My dad and most of his family live there. I live in Victoria a few hours from Melbourne.

I love it when i get the chance to go there for a visit and i intend to move there to work as a nurse once i finish my study.

It is a city. It is not massive. You can drive from one side to the other in less than an hour if the traffic is good, which is far from what you would find in say Melbourne or Sydney.

    The people are friendly.

There are all kinds of events and things that go on.

If you don't mind a short drive living in the hills is a great idea. It takes 30 or 40 minutes to drive to the city center, there are some gorgeous smaller towns up there with awesome views.

That is if you like the country style living...

  3. adelaide is a horrible place, i went there 2 yrs ago for a holiday n hated it, it was cold, the people are arrogant and complete snobs, the roads are terrible, peoples driving is insane, i would suggest moving to the darwin nt, people are much more friendly, warm weather all year round, we have good roads and the perfect easy going life style, don't move it adelaide, it will be a huge mistake!

  4. I think I am qualified to answer this - I left middle class suburbia in the UK and migrated to oz, I had a great time for a few years but now want to move on as I have become a bit disillusioned with it here (not going back to Britain though) It has become as expensive now as in Europe. Don't be fooled by the beauty of the place - since I have lived here on the Sunnycoast, there has been numerous suicides, one, a 17 year old that I knew, one a man who worked for me, there is also a HUGE drug problem in oz and not just with the 'kids' it is more condensed here too, especially in the regional towns. Its a great place to retire or bring up young children but teens...mmm! The schools are not as good as the private ones in the UK either. Oh and Adelaide...are you sure you want to move there!!?? Oh and one in 2 marriages end in divorce, well in Qld anyway!

Please aussies don't get upset, I am speaking from MY experience and I don't get upset when pple diss my home land!! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion!! To put it bluntly.....the grass is not always greener!!

  5. Go! Higher standard of living, better climate, more room, you're not shackeled by 1000's of years of 'tradition' and history..

If you don't go you'll look back in years to come and regret it

  6. Heck yeah!! My wife is welsh born and she would never ever think of going to live back in Wales, UK. I have visited over there and to me Eng, Wales and Sct. are no where near the standard of our way of living here in SA.
