  1. Well from the list I would say some are  brilliant people who can became very successful, I had a boy in my class who had/prob still has ADHD and he was so smart when he interact with the class . I think some are so smart school bores them not a challenge to them.

  2. I see no reliable reference as to where you plucked these names from ? A.D.H.D. and A.D.D. are difficult to diagnose, even today, how one can hypothesize that Galileo suffered from either baffles me ??? I would assume Edison, Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Beethoven, etc. had wonderfull ability to focus, concentrate thus ruling out Attention Deficit ! Otherwise how could they have achieved what they did. You been reading some trash pop magazine ?

  3. Don't take that horrible medicine for that so called disorder.

  4. First of all, this is a violation of their privacy that could be considered an attempt to criticize or damage them as people.  It is wrong to collect a list such as this.  You should respect their reputation and privacy.

  5. That is a fascinating list - I guess I can add myself. I wasn't diagnosed as a child, but as an adult. What is interesting is that there are different degrees - mild, moderate, and severe.

The distractability, racing thoughts, losing things, talking too much, interrupting others, impulsivity were some of the challenges I had as a child. Also, following directions and difficult math questions and problem solving were almost impossible. It is very real. I believe some are misdiagnosed and have bipolar and some have both. I understand today that people with ADHD are very high risk for substance abuse because they are trying to feel "normal". There is also fidgeting and being aggressive at times that causes some parents to want to pull their hair out. It is treatable and having a mentor really helps. One on one teaching can be very helpful if the person likes the teacher.

  6. I agree with the people who say there is no way to be certain whether or not some of these people had it or not.

There are now genetic scientific methods that can be used to determine whether or not one was wired for this alternative way of thinking. What I can tell you is it has been scientifically proven to have been a genetic alteration of DNA around 40 thousand years ago.

So one asks oneself why did this occur and why has it continued to be passed on? Well natural selection states that genetic traits are how life attempts to mutate in order to survive.

In the past these outside the box thinkers were Shaman and visionaries. Where a non-ADD person may continue to carry on as the group or tribe as for many generations. The earth and nature as we all know now changes. Those individuals who are comforted by the familiar routines of the day to day life they have be come accustomed to, may ie instead of trying to explore new and unfamiliar ideas or territory. This has happend to many a tribes communities and even civilazations. The easily distracted are far more open minded and imaginative when it comes to seeking out new places, ideas and applying innovations and concepts that are not always oblivous to most. There is are often very several common traits found in the ADD person. Often more artistic, intelligent, and high intellectual reasoning. Including abstract concepts and ideas, and many more perspectives on these abstract ideas to contemplate complex interactions and time oriented conclusions.

I am not saying that those without this condition can not do these things.

However ADD peoples brains are actually wired differently forceing them to think in a mode very different to non-ADDs. The way ADDs brain are wired forces them to either adapt to social norms. If they can acomplish this as well as develop both sides of their brain to work together they gain a proder perspective in realms this creative/imaginative abilitiy is intended to be used for, the survival of all life.

"They have the ability to walk between two worlds with a foot firmly planted in both." GM.

It can also be a terrible detriment if they are unable to understand themselves and others, they feel a sense that others are foreign. When this is left unbalanced, often it leads to madness. After all there is a fine line between genius and madness.

  7. I have adult ADD and I would just like to start off by saying it looks like your just trying to start a fight. The only opinion that matters is mine, or in your case yours.

It looks to me like you just listed a bunch of famous people that actually did soothing with their lives or more likely you just copy and pasted. The majority of these people just thought outside of the box. There were no test to prove them as ADHD or ADD back in 1500's when Galileo was alive. I can tell you straight up that Beethoven and Mozart were not ADD or ADHD. If you think about the stuff these guys wrote you would realize that there is no way they could have written the stuff they did write. 20 minutes symphonies and the like. There are what, like 50 names on that list? Think of the billions of people that had ADD or ADHD and accomplished nothing at all. The only reason why they don't have their own list is because they are not famous.

See how that works? Next time, think for yourself and don't copy and paste. That is called plagiarism.

  8. well from the list of names, i think its easy to say ADHD is what you make of it. These people became successful and yet some people fail school because of it.
