Has anyone ever heard of the meds Bright Spark or Focus by Native remedies. I found it on the internet and was wondering I have a child wo will be 7 in July and has ADHD and is very hyper and has been on a few different meds since 11/05 and we finally found Concerta and It has worked the best. we had to get him on an IEP at school cause he was getting into trouble everyday at school. He is up early every morning and is rough with his brother and sister and he seems to never calm down when his meds wears off and we even have to give him meds to help him fall asleep at night and btw this is all perscribed by his Dr. who watches him very close we have to see her every 3-6 months. Just trying to find some answers. I hate to have to give him meds and get on him all the time for not listening and being rough at home and at school. Plaese Help!!!!!!!!

  1. It seem like we are in the same thing. I have a 6 year old right now that has ADHD. We went through so many medicine. We found the one that working but keep updosing his medicine. He really hyper that he keep jumping off the couch or my chair. He really hard to settle down at night has well. But I used give him medicine to help me sleep. But he doesn't need it anymore. But he does get trouble at school and so on. Hoping to work on that. Keep talking to your doctor and tell them want you have been thinking. That want I do.

  2. I haven't heard of it, but would recommend talking to your doctor about whatever you decide to try....even if it's considered all natural.  Just for the record, kids on Concerta are required by law to be seen by the doctor every 3 months.  Good luck.

  3. When my son was younger he was the same way...But we found his meds made him worse because his diagonsis was wrong...he had bi-polar not adhd.  Look up early onset bipolar and see if he matches any of the decriptions

  4. I agree, talk to your doctor about whatever you do.  There might be adverse reactions.  Also, herbal medications are unregulated so it could be dangerous.

I have read that a regular Omega 3 fish oil supplement has helped children with their attention.  We tried it, but couldn't get him to take them regularly.  http://www.askdrsears.com/html/10/t10100...

Have you worked with a psychologist about the behavior?  My son is 10 and according to the doctor on a scale of 1 to 10 on energy, would fall closer to 11.  He sees the psychologist every two weeks and they work on ways for him to calm himself down, ways to curb the impulsive (rough) behavior and gives me ideas on what to work on with him and how our household can survive.

To date we have avoided medications using these treatments instead (though that won't be the case forever as school gets harder) and a 504 plan at school.

Best of luck to you guys!
