ADO Den Haag’s John van den Brom unlikely take over at Vitesse Arnhem – Eredivisie news
Reports from GelreDome Stadion confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221 manager, John van den Brom, would not be taking over at Vitesse Arnhem. Vitesse management has not been able to reach an agreement with ADO and it seems likely that Van den Brom will remain active
at Kyocera Stadion.
The former Vitesse midfielder was appointed the ADO manager at the start of 2010/11 campaign. In his debut season, the tactician managed to guide his side to a seventh place finish in the league table, ensuring their participation in the UEFA Europa League
play-offs. ADO won the tie comprehensively and managed to book a berth in Europe’s secondary club competition.
Earlier reports suggested that the 44-year-old would be leading the outfit from Arnhem in the upcoming season. The tactician had agreed personal terms with Vitesse, however, it has now been confirmed that a deal failed to materialize as Vitesse management
was reluctant to pay the 2 million Euros release clause.
Under Albert Ferrer’s leadership, Vitesse struggled to perform in the 2010/11 season and finished 15th in the league table. Consequently, the two parties parted ways on mutual consent.
Merab Jordania, who took control of the financially troubled http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitesse-c40905 last year, has outlined ambitious plans for the outfit from Arnhem. Jordania had earlier expressed his desire of bringing in Louis van Gaal to the club. The Dutch tactician is yet to land
a new http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 following his sacking from Bayern Munich.
However, with Van den Brom emerging as the premier candidate to take over from Ferrer, Van Gaal’s arrival in Arnhem seemed like a farfetched notion. But with 2 million Euros being a big tumbling block, Jordania can now fulfill his wish by appointing the
former Bayern trainer as the head coach.
