The ADO boss expressed satisfaction after his side managed to salvage a point against an impressive http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roda-JC-c40375 Kerkrade side.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221 resumed the Eredivisie action after the winter break when they recorded a 3-3 stalemate against Roda JC Kerkrade at Kyocera Stadion on Friday, January 20.
The ADO head coach, Maurice Steijn, has expressed his contentment following the draw, but insisted that his side could have managed to secure all three points.
“In the dressing room, the boys were angry and disappointed. That means after such a great game, we are on the right track. I can live with this result because we can build on this in the second-half of the season. We played with six guys from our own youth
academy, and I am certain that many of the other teams cannot do”, Steijn was quoted as saying to the media.
The home side started the match brightly and showed aggressive intent. In the third minute, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-c36794 Verhoek’s neat pass forward pierced the visitors’ back-line and found his younger brother John Verhoek in the box, who made no mistake in hitting the back
of the net.
Tweleve minutes later, the older Verhoek’s sloppy pass allowed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mads-Junker-c23039 to score the equaliser with ease. However, the hosts continued to mount pressure and they regained the lead in the 24th minute through Charlton Vicento.
Three minutes after the break, Sanharib Malki’s neat finish made the score-line 2-2. However, Vicento’s second of the evening only ten minutes later put the home side ahead.
De Koempels tried hard to score the equaliser, but the ADO back-line provided rock solid defence. With eight minutes left on the clock, the hosts must have thought that they have the three points in the bag. However, Junker and Malki played a neat one-two
before the latter hit the back of the net to seal the game 3-3 with both sides sharing the spoils.
Roda JC will play their next encounter against the Eredivisie leaders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NEC-c40018 Nijmegen at McDOS Goffertstadion on Sunday, January 29.
