Reports have confirmed that ADO Den Haags' versatile defender, Pascal Bosschaart, will not take part in the remaining action of the season after sustaining a hamstring injury. The 31-year-old defender underwent an MRI scan on Monday, which showed that he
has a tear in his hamstring.
The versatile defender, the captain of ADO, was substituted in the 14th minute of the match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar, when it appeared he could no longer continue to play. The 31-year-old central defender was seen in great pain while leaving the field.
Bosschaart started his professional career with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 Rotterdam in 2004/05 season. However, he joined ADO just after two years in 2006/07 season. He has made over 100 appearances
for his current side and has played a vital role in ADO’s back line this season.
The multi-talented defender’s current contract with ADO is going to end this season and the team management has yet to offer the former Utreg's defender a contract renewal.
Bosschaart said, “My contract ends this season and I have not yet heard from the club. I would like to stay with ADO, the team also believes in my experience. If the silence stays longer, then I will think very carefully about my future.”
The Hague outfit are currently placed fifth in the league table, trailing the last UEFA Champions league spot by a mammoth 11 points. With three matches left to play in the season, Europe’s most prestigious club competition berth looks farfetched. However,
ADO would certainly look to play in the Europa League next season.
The 31-year-old centre-back has played vital role in ADO’s success. He has great defensive skills and can play in the defensive mid-fielder position as well. However, the only thing he lacks in his 13-year long career is that he has never scored a goal.
However, the skills he holds as a defender, his lack of scoring a goal seems to be little concern for ADO.
John van den Brom, ADO manager, will have to do without the services of Bosschaart in the remaining three fixtures and Mitchell Pique would be replacing him in the ADO’s back-line for the remaining season.
