Following http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Utrecht-c39237 in favour of staying at Kyocera Stadion. The 24-year-old has reportedly set his sights on enjoying the European adventure with ADO in the upcoming
season.
The Utreg are in search of replacements, though with little luck so far, for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven.
The highly-rated winger, who has been a part of ADO since his debut at Kyocera Stadion in January 2005, was said to be the perfect replacement for Mertens. He has scored 25 goals in 158 appearances for the club so far.
The youngster’s performances were phenomenal in the 2010/11 campaign where he played 32 matches, scored seven goals and provided 14 assists. His impressive outings did not go unnoticed, as Aston Villa FC and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 FC have shown keen interest in signing
the winger in the ongoing summer transfer market.
Foeke Booy, the Utreg technical director, revealed that the winger has snubbed a move to Stadion Galgenwaard, waiting for a bigger European club.
“Verhoek wants to wait for a top club playing in the Dutch top tier or an adventure abroad”, Booy said while talking to the media.
The Utreg have so far only managed to sign Yoshiaki Takagi from Tokyo Verdy and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Silberbauer-c25371 and Strootman have all left the
club.
ADO would be relieved to hear that Verhoek wants to continue pursuing his career at Kyocera Stadion for another season. The winger’s current contract with ADO runs until the summer of 2012.
Reports indicate that the ADO management is looking to offer the 24-year-old an extension to his current contract. However, it is still uncertain whether the highly-rated winger wants to prolong his stay at Kyocera Stadion or intends to move for adventures
abroad.
