i an currently experiencing slow broadband but i know why. its because my computer is is in a distant room and i have a (15 meter) ADSL cable running from the wall socket to my router and a short Ethernet cable from the router to my computer.

now i know the ADSL cable is to long but if i used a short ADSL cable and a 15 meter Ethernet cable would that fix it.

  1. Ethernet vcan run up to 200m, 15 m is nothing! You're much better off moving your Router and having a long Ethernet cble in place!

  2. Having a longer Ethernet cable would be better, but first try this:

Unplug both your router and your modem, wait 10 seconds, and then plug them back in.  Sometimes the modem and/or the router gets messed up and they need to be rebooted.  When this happens you might get slow internet access, problems connecting, or even random disconnecting.
