Question:

ADT or Local Home Security Alarms?

Now I'm in deep research for finding a home security system for my brand new home. I pretty much live alone, and on a very strict budget with my mortgage payments.

Should I pay the dough to have ADT install my security system, or would it make any difference to go with these local small business security companies?

This site have A Buying Guide for alarm system.

  2. Apx alarms - they can get you free equipment. They use Honeywell equipt (Honeywell equipment is more reliable versus GE equipment which has more false alarms and defects). Nowadays, you only have to have one main keypad (no huge control panel in your closet or anything) a magnetic contact on each outside door, and either all your windows or the main windows if you have a lot. A motion detector is great for a main living area, or for "looking" down a hallway. Apx alarms can install for free, as well as give you a 10 point system for FREE. All you have to pay is 44.99 a month with a $99 activation fee. Here is how that "10 point system" is broken down: (you choose what out of the following you want for your home)

    1 point items:

    Door Contact

    Window Contact

Keyfob (used to turn on/off the system like a car alarm)

Medical pendant (just like life alert - will alert/ send out an ambulance)

    2 point items:

    Motion Detector

Glass break sensor(picks up the frequency of broken glass if someone breaks a window to get in)

keypad is FREE, as well as the back-up battery.

AND, unlike ADT, they guarantee there will NEVER be a raise in your monthly rate.
