When performing CPR with an AED, can you use a one child's AED pad and one adult AED on a adult victim?? I know that you can't use 2 child AED pads but I can't remember if you can use just one?

  1. It's not recommended !!!

Do not use child pads or a child dose on adults in cardiac arrest because the smaller dose may not defibrillate adults properly.

  2. I'm not sure how you would.  Every AED I've worked with has the two pads connected by one single connector.  There would be no way to connect one adult and one pediatric pad.
