Does anyone know where i can find a cheap AEM cold air intake system or a v2 intake system for my Mitsubishi eclipse gt? I was looking at the short ram intakes and they are allot cheaper but i don't think they can give you as much of a power boost, am i right or just an idiot? Because internet explanations have been shaky at best.

  1. the short ram intakes do not work all they do is suck in hot air and cicrculate it through your engine = no hp difference

the v2 intake is waste of money dont get it

the cold air intake is the only one that works, since its sucking in cold air from the bottom it acutally does work

  2. go with whatever the cheapest intake you can find is. in the end, the only difference aem makes is that thier intakes are carb legal, but this should only matter if you live in california. nowadays every intake has been designed after all the brand named product so it does not really matter. as far as to buying a cold air intake, rather than a short ram, you do get colder air thus getting more oxygen atoms into your combustion chamber. with a short ram intake you get the hot air from the engine until you begin to move and cold air enters the engine bay. With the cold air intake you have the chances of hydrolock if you live i a place where it rains, but a bypass valve would solve that problem.

  3. yea bro as far as air intakes it wont make much of a difference whether its short or long.....theres really not a big gain with either of em...so go with the cheapest..it does look good and does make ur engine  sound a bit better...but performance wise ...not so good. and yea look at ur engine space....i kno sum short ram intakes fit better on the smaller japanese cars...
