AF E-1 to E-3 college credits?

Ok please dont answer if you dont know what your talking about. Ok I have my 45 creidts (46 to be exact). I already signed as an E-1 before i just recently finsihed my finally classes. my recruiter said he'll send my transcripts off to meps and once i get there ill resign before a ship out as an E-3. True; not true? My recruiter also said he can check to make sure that the recieve and change my status to an E-3 through a software that he has i guess. So let me know what you think, but only if you know what your talking about :) No guesses please. Thanks

They are telling the truth.  The software your recruiter is talking about is called AFRISS.  That is the active duty software program that links them, the MEPS, and the military personnel database all together.  The Air Force AFI (36-2001) is the recruiting regulation and talks about the process for awarding an individual E-3 based college credits after they DEP but before they ship.  You just need to make sure you keep on your recruiter so they don't get side tracked and not take care of it.

Yes, that is true.  Remember that you are not officially a recruit until you take the final oath when you leave for Basic, until then you are in DEP.  Make sure you have that new contract signed before you leave.  You recruiter can definitely do this for you.  Do not leave for basic until you have fully read and signed a new contract with you E-3 rank.

Yes, he is telling the truth.

You have up to 6 months after enlisting, to show college transcripts, for advanced rank.

But it is better to do so, before basic, because they do not retroactively promote you, if you wait until after your in.

Your E-3 promotion will be effective, the day you graduate basic training.

Everyone in basic is an E-1.
