Ajax Amsterdam’s Christian Eriksen and Derk Boerrigter have expressed their delight following their side’s dominating 4-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in the latest round of UEFA Champions League.
The Dutch giants put in an impressive show at Amsterdam Arena and cruised to a comfortable win. Goals from Gregory van der Wiel, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Siem-de-Jong-c33482 and Nicolas Lodeiro ensured that the Amsterdam giants secure three crucial points easily by the
end of 90 minutes.
Eriksen performed impressively and remained a constant menace for the Croatian giants. He revealed after the match that the win was really important for his side.
“To see a 4-0 score line on the screen is really important for us. I made assists for two goals, and I feel I'm on my way back to my top level. I think I made a lot of wrong passes in the middle of the pitch but in the last third of the pitch I made some
good choices and happily this led to us scoring twice”, the Danish playmaker was quoted as saying to the media.
The young midfielder is a product of Ajax renowned youth academy and started his professional career in the 2009/10 season at Amsterdam Arena. The 19-year-old has thus far played 51 matches and scored eight goals while providing a bagful of assists.
Boerrigter also expressed satisfaction following his side’s thumping win at home. He admitted that his side was better than the opponents.
“We played really well as a team and created plenty of chances. I thought Zagreb would be aggressive and put us under more pressure, but we managed to play our own game throughout and score some great goals”, the 25-year-old winger said while talking to
the media.
Boerrigter arrived at Amsterdam Arena earlier this year, in the summer transfer window, after making 64 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RKC-Waalwijk-c40370. The winger has thus far impressed the Amsterdammers faithful with his performances.
Although the 25-year-old has not managed to hit the back of the net consistently, his impressive movement on the left flank has caused problems for every opposition.
