AFC Ajax’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Derk-Boerrigter-c10972 and Gregory van der Wiel out for SBV Excelsior clash – Eredivisie news
Reports from Amsterdam Arena confirm that Ajax Amsterdam’ Derk Boerrigter and Gregory van der Wiel have been ruled out for the clash against SBV Excelsior. The Amsterdammers will battle against the struggling outfit from Excelsior at Amsterdam Arena on Saturday,
December 3.
Boerrigter is reportedly still suffering from a back injury while Van der Wiel is suffering from a groin injury. The duo missed the Amsterdam giants last week’s away encounter against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NEC-c40018 Nijmegen and would remain sidelined for the upcoming encounter, too.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lorenzo-Ebecilio-c22428 was also complaining about a groin injury and trained separately at Amsterdam Arena on Thursday. However, Frank de Boer, the Amsterdammers head coach, has revealed that the forward had a slight problem, and he has recovered in time for the
upcoming encounter.
“Lorenzo is fit enough to play the match. But Lodeiro would lead the attack pack. He has shown his class earlier and he plays well in rush hours”, De Boer was quoted as saying to the media.
The Dutch mentor then went on to stress that his side will surely secure all three points against the outfit from Excelsior.
“Hopefully, we will secure all three points. It’s not like that Excelsior is a poor side. They have shown their class in the recent weeks, but I believe in my side”, De Boer added.
Although the Amsterdammers will miss many of their first team players in this upcoming home fixture, the 41-year-old tactician does not seem too concerned and remains confident of winning the match.
“I think we are playing good football. Everything is going well. We dominate throughout the match, but we need to continue making progress”, De Boer concluded.
Ajax have not bagged maximum points in front of their home crowd since their 4-1 triumph against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/NAC-Breda-c39983.
The defending Dutch champions are currently occupying the fourth spot on the league table, trailing the league leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 by a mammoth 10 points. De Boer would be hoping that his side stage an exciting brand of football and cruise to a comfortable victory
by the end of 90 minutes.
