AFC Ajax’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mounir-El-Hamdaoui-c26905 expected to leave Amsterdam Arena – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports suggest that Ajax Amsterdam striker, Mounir El Hamdaoui, would be leaving Amsterdam Arena in the upcoming summer transfer market. The Moroccan International has set his sights on a move away from the Amsterdam giants in the summer, as Ajax have shown
their willingness to let go off their prized assed in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old striker joined Ajax at the start of the 2010/11 season from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar. It seemed like a successful collaboration between the Moroccan International and the Amsterdammers, as he played impressively at the start of the season and scored consistently.
However, his strong period come to an abrupt end when Martin Jol resigned as the coach of Ajax in December 2010 and Frank de Boer succeeded him at the managerial hot seat.
Hamdaoui and De Boer have never seen eye-to-eye and the frosty relationship between the two continues. The Moroccan International was made to sit on the bench initially by De Boer and later demoted to the reserves squad after disciplinary problems.
The Moroccan International was unhappy with some of the decisions taken by the tactician and a summer exit seems likely for the forward. The Amsterdammers paid five million Euros for the 26-year-old’s signature and the same price tag has been slapped on
the player for the upcoming transfer market.
Turkish outfits, Galatasaray SK and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759, have shown keen interest in signing the Moroccan International, but Hamdaoui has already made it clear that he does not want to pursue his career in Turkey.
The 26-year-old striker’s current contract with the Amsterdammers runs until the summer of 2014. But reports confirm that Ajax have already identified AZ Alkmaar’s Kolbeinn Sigthorsson as an ideal replacement for Hamdaoui, essentially sealing the player’s
departure from the club.
