AFC Ajax’s Mounir El Hamdaoui given permission to leave the club – Dutch Eredivisie news
Reports from Amsterdam Arena confirm that Ajax Amsterdam have given permission to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mounir-El-Hamdaoui-c26905 to leave the club. The Moroccan International had personal issues with the Amsterdammers coach, Frank de Boer, and it seems likely that the technically gifted
striker would not be a part of De Boer’s plans for the upcoming season.
The 26-year-old joined the Amsterdammers from AZ Alkmaar at the start of 2010/11 campaign. Under the leadership of Martin Jol, who remains a great admirer of the forward’s abilities, the Moroccan International impressed hugely in the attacking thirds.
With Jol’s departure, however, the striker’s performances came to a halt. The 26-year-old was demoted to Ajax reserves squad by Boer owing to disciplinary issues.
Turkish Super Liga outfit, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trabzonspor-c40759, earlier tabled a bid of 4.5 million Euros to acquire the services of Hamdaoui. De Joden were reportedly attracted with the offer, but the 26-year-old refused to join the Turkish outfit and the deal collapsed.
Tottenham Hotspur also showed interest in signing the Moroccan ace, but the Amsterdammers have confirmed that the English Premier League outfit are yet to table a bid for the troubled star.
Recent reports suggest Martin Jol, who recently took over at Fulham FC, is looking to table a bid for the 26-year-old in the coming days. The two have worked together at Tottenham and also at Ajax.
The Fulham management has reportedly handed Jol a mammoth 20 million Pounds budget to rebuild the squad, and the tactician’s top priority is reported to be the Moroccan ace.
With 5 million Euro-rated Hamdaoui’s departure looking imminent, the Amsterdammers have to sign a striker to fill in his shoes and they have set their sights on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar’s Kolbeinn Sigthorsson.
