AFC Ajax’s Vurnon Anita on Liverpool FC, Fulham FC and Borussia Dortmund radars – Eredivisie news
Ajax Amsterdam’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vurnon-Anita-c36486 performed impressively at Amsterdam Arena this season and his good performances have not gone unnoticed outside of Netherlands. A host of top European clubs are eager to take his signature in the ongoing summer transfer market.
The Amsterdammers management recently managed to sign a contract extension with the youngster that will keep him with De Joden until the summer of 2014. However, speculations about his possible departure from Amsterdam Arena are still in the air.
Reports suggest that three English Premier League clubs: Liverpool FC, Fulham FC and Tottenham Hotspur, are taking keen interest in taking his signature. However, Harry Lulofs, Anita’s agent, has mooted all the speculations linking his client with a move
away to England.
“The way I understand things, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are the only two interested teams. They have not approached me, though, and I have not been in touch with Ajax either, to ask whether there has been contact with other clubs”, Lulofs was quoted
as saying to the media.
The promising young midfielder was previously linked with the likes of Borussia Dortmund, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 and Schalke 04, but the Dutch International preferred to pen down a contract extension at Amsterdam Arena.
The midfielder’s agent, then, went on to reveal that his client is content with staying at Amsterdam Arena for the next couple of years in spite of the strong interest. Lulofs also suggested that the 22-year-old midfielder is not ready for a move away from
his parent club.
“Vurnon is flattered that clubs are interested in him, but he only just signed a new deal. Vurnon is only 22-years-old and is not ready yet for a move abroad”, he added.
Anita’s agent also revealed that they turned down interest from Ligue 1 and Bundesliga outfits for a solid reason; the defensive midfielder wants to prolong his stay at Amsterdam Arena.
“We turned down concrete interest from Marseille for a reason, and there was also German interest. Schalke and Borussia Dortmund were reportedly after him. He wants to stay at Ajax and be successful”, Lulofs concluded.
It seems obvious that the 22-year-old would be pursuing his career for the next couple of years at Amsterdam Arena in order to further hone his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Skills-c40539 before moving abroad for a tougher challenge.
