  1. no it wont.  i was in AFJROTC in high school with the intentions of going into the air force (that didnt happen :( ) but a lot of my friends joined the military afterwards.  the certificate of completion of junior ROTC doesnt excuse you from basic training but it can help to invrease your pay grade.

  2. AFROTC does not get anyone out of Basic training.

If your going to an Academy, you will go Thu their version of basic training, the summer before your first year.

The Certificate of completetion, is just for advanced enlistment rank.

  3. No.

If you go to the Air Force Academy you will actually start the summer before.  They call it the "Summer Seminar".  It takes place at 7,250 foot altitude so if you are not in good shape you are really going to suffer.  It is a 24/7 arrangement. The idea is to make it so rough that if you are a whimp, you quit before they start wasting money on you at the AFA.   Your question sounds a bit "whimpy" to me as you are already trying to figure out how to get out of stuff.

I suggest you go to an Air Force Recruiter and find out what physical fitness test you have to pass for basic.  Then start working on it.

  4. No.

Why would you want to skip basic training anyways?

  5. absolutly not.why in the world would you want to skip basic in the first place?

  6. If your going to the academy, you dont need to do basic training.

Basic Training is for the enlisted folk. You will have BEAST and 4 years of strenuous work at the AFA. Truthfully, before relying on the AFA, make sure to look into other programs such as AFROTC and Enlisting then doing OTS. With the COT and COC, you can enlist at a higher paygrade, that of E-3 A1C

    Good luck C/AB.

  7. Nope. I'm surprised your AFJROTC instructor didn't tell you that. He told my entire unit that.
