AFL- Geelong?

Question

Can anybody seriously challenge these guys at the moment? I'd say the Eagles had righted their ship until Sunday's slip-up with the Dockers (rivalry and all).

Geelong are looking really good at the moment and do look unstoppable. However, they do have a bad record in finals and they don't have a lot of finals experience in their teams.

Still, I wouldn't tip against them at the moment. They play fast exciting footy and look like they have amazing fitness.

I would like to to say NO, but but i firmly believe that Geelong need to lose a game before the finals start. At the moment Geelong deserve to be flag favorites, but if they know that another team can beat them going into the finals, I think that will make them an even better side.

My opinion is that there is only one team at the mo that can match Geelongs goal kicking ability and that is Brisbane if Jonathon Brown stays in his current form.  WCE are not a big goal kicking team.

If geelong plays top football no one will be able to touch them. But Finals is a totally different ball game, players go harder at the ball they put in more effert, you cant get the running game to work well like geelong has been doing. And as for Geelong being over the salary cap id like to know where he got his info coz its a load of c**p sounds like someone just angry coz their teams lozing.

Geelong are the worst finals team in modern football. They have been in four grand finals and lost them all even when ablett kicked nine and won the norm smith. Sydney beat them in the prelim in 2005 when 25 pts down in the final qtr. They're the Shogun Lodge of AFL - absolute quality but always just missing.

In the regular season, no, i can't see anyone really challenging them.  But when it comes to the finals, i can see them winning (and not choking for a change), but i don't see them going all the way.

I don't think players like cam mooney are big finals game material, which is why teams like west coast and sydney have been so good in the past playing with one big forward, and lots of goal kicking smaller players.

Yeah I think the eagles can challenge them, but they probably got ahead of themselves in the derby and didn't rate freo as a challenge. Freo tagged liked the whole eagles midfield out of the game well, I'll give them that.

However, it's the best team on the day that wins. The roos can probably get them, I reckon. Also I don't believe it when people say geelong are due for a loss. It takes the win away for any team who beats them. When I think Collingwood stopped the eagles streak in 05 I think, everyone said it was because eagles were due for a win, and reading someting Judd had writin on the website really said it all. It said Collingwood played better on the day and all credit goes to them. It when on with a few similies but thats too long.

Geelong are a good chance for premiers.

The Hawks have very young players at the momment. In 2-3 years they will be a top team. They will be a challenge.
