  1. I reckon the main reason is an attempt to see if it would stop "flooding" or to try and bring back more one on one contests

Players are that fit now they can run full tilt any time they are on the ground

Any effort to open up the game a bit and stop fifteen players milling around the ball in my opinion has some merit

  2. Changing interchange because there is little else left to change!

The AFL: are going to stifle initiative with their limits on changes - coaches won't swap players without cause because someone going on will take time to warm up and someone pulled off will be angry and resentful!

22 players are about right for the game. Leave it up to the coaches, they have an interest in keeping their players fresh and healthy.

  3. the interchange as it was  previous,  gave  the older players more  times resting throughout the game which gave them less time of playing but now they cannot rotate them as often

  4. a coach can use the interchange as often as he wants.

what's the result of causing players to exert themselves more in the season becoz they can't be benched as much?

most likely a slower paced finals series

  5. I think its just a waste of time changing it. Can screww up a teams game plan say if they like to rotate alot. Unnecessary. They should look at better things to change...eg hands in the back rule
