Why is there now 150m marked on an AFL field instead of 50m considering it is 50m from the goal. Is the 150m meaning 150m from the other end??? Im confused :||

it means 150 years of afl footy.

The AFL has changed the distance of 50m. Now a kick only needs to travel 5m before it can be marked.

they put 150 because its the 150th year of vfl/afl so they thought they would put a 1 in front of the 50 to show 150

It is meant to represent 150 years of Aussie Rules football. To tell you the truth, so many people are confused by it that I think the AFL should just get rid of it, they should celebrate in different ways!

It is meant to represent 150 years of Aussie Rules football. There trying the promote the game but they can find different less confusing ways too do so! put up a Flag or a Sign

its the 150th year of afl/vfl thats why its marked there, it is 50m from goal, im surprised they didnt just put it in the center of the ground which would have been better!

It's nothing more than a gimic! Someone had the great idea to put the number 1 in front of the 50 as a way of commemorating 150 years of Australian Rules Football! Very confusing for those who don't really know much about our game!

Its the 150th year since footy began, the first reported match was in 1858, aug 7th.

They've marked the ground 150 in celebration and recognition of it!!
