AIM on cell phones, do i need internet access?

im getting a new phone plan soon. i want AIM on my phone, dont i just need unlimited texting to have it? or do i need internet access?

one of the dealers told me that i do need internet access, the other told me i dont, and that i just need unlimited text. im confused! which do i need?!

can someone please help!

At Verizon all you need is texting, well you don't even need it per say but it's smart to have it. You do NOT need internet access.

Aim is on the internet, therefore, you would need internet accessible on your phone.

considering i had internet access blocked on my phone for 2 years and still able to use AIM no it doesnt.. aim does not use internet access nor does it charge you extra as long as you got texting but if you dont have unlimited then go over itll charge u per text message! it also does NOT count as data charge neither!
