Question:

AIM safety, adding people?

Can people add anyone they want on AIM without approving? I mean, on Windows Live Messenger, you need to approve someone's add request for them to talk to you. Is this the same for AIM?

Also, would it be a good idea to use your real name if you don't want everyone to find you? For instance, let's say I'm Angelina Jolie, would it be a good idea to choose my screen name as "angelinajolie". (I'm not AJ, of course, just said it to show my point)

  1. I think AIM requests require approval, Yahoo! and MSN require approval, but that's just a guess.

You should always use an alias on the Web, you dunno who's out there!
