After making sure that the youngster stays put in Burgundy last summer, Gerard Bourgoin knows that he has no option other than selling the midfielder who was heavily courted by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 last summer
Relegation to Ligue 2 football has been hard to swallow for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Bourgoin was claiming that the team
has a realistic chance of finishing in third place.
“There is talent in this team, a third place is not unrealistic,” Bourgoin had said. However, exactly the opposite of this happened as the Burgundy club was relegated a week before the 2011/2012 campaign had ended.
Ligue 2 football now awaits AJA and it seems that Bourgoin will not be making such big statements any time soon. Almost 12 months ago, Olympique Lyonnais came knocking on AJA’s door to make an offer for the services of Delvin N’Dinga, a player that Remi
Garde was so keen on bringing to the Stade de Gerland.
However, the club’s president turned out to be a stubborn dealer and made sure that his most prized possession stayed at the Stade de l’Abbe Deschamps. N’Dinga was also keen on making the switch but after all that the president had done for him, could never
consider forcing out a move.
After making sure that the Congolese international stayed at the club, Bourgoin claimed that it was important to hold on to good players if the club wants to play in Europe regularly.
“Some presidents warmly congratulated me for that! Those who know me, know that in business, I never give up. And if you want to qualify for the Champions League, you do not lose N’Dinga, part of our five or six players, above level.”
However, things have changed drastically for the club. With no money in the coffers, no Champions League and a league in which the finances are not likely to improve, the club has to sell some of its star players including the defensive midfielder.
Furthermore, so much strained are the finances that the club has failed to meet the financial regulations of the league which means that Auxerre could sink further down to the lower echelons of French football by next week.
One of France’s most famous clubs needs money quickly and selling N’Dinga might help them a lot. Ligue 2 side AS Monaco are keen on signing the player. Under Russian ownership, the Principality club aims to return to Ligue 1 and is willing to sign N’Dinga.
The Burgundians need 8 million euros to get out of jail and Monaco are willing to pay 6 million euros for the 24-year-old. Though the transfer will leave the club with a small gap of 2 million euros to overcome, this time, it is unlikely that the club’s
president will say no.
