  1. bring misquito spray

  2. If you are going to the inside passage to see the glaciers, then bring a warm hat and gloves, plus a warm shirt and pants. It can be pretty cool outside while watching the glaciers. Also if you do not have a balcony room, go outside early and find a spot to watch the glaciers. It gets very crowded outside. If you have a balcony, but are on the wrong side of the ship[ to see the glaciers, don't worry, they will turn the ship around after a while so you can see it very well right from your cabin. The tip above about mosquito's is a great tip. The mosquito's are like the state bird(big) of Alaska.

  3. Take layers.  It is sometimes cool outside on the ship.  Bring a water repellent jacket or hip-length coat and a hat of some sort (for the rain).  People don't really get dressed up on ships much anymore, so be comfortable but don't dress like you're at the beach.  Take advantage of all the side trips that you can afford and know that they fill up quickly so don't dawdle about signing up for them.  The wildlife side trips especially are terrific.  EVERYTHING is fun.  You'll have a blast!  Take mini-binoculars and a decent camera too!
