ALGEBRA 2 HONORS HELP!!?

Ok, well were doing absolute value and i know that |-4| = 4 cause everything inside of ||'s is positive but what if is like -|4| what happens then.?? Also what if a fraction is in absolute value for do you leave it the same.? would it be like |2/3| (in fraction form) = 2/3 ? is that all.?

oh and also what if its like |56-21| do you just do the math.? I know its a lot but I'm a freshman and this is only my second day of high school please help.

  1. -| 4| means the same as -4. yes, |2/3| is still 2/3. for |56-21|, you just evaluate what is inside then take the absolute value of it.


  2. Absolute value of a real number is its numerical value without regards to its sign.

    |x|=|-x|, |x/y|=|x|/|y| and |x-y|=|x|-|y|
