  1. A NNEB is still arelevant qualification in the early years sector, however you may want to brush up on current legislation, check the early year foundation stage for some tips, and you may consider gaining the EYPS check your local childcare provider/cwps site for details.

  2. Not many places accept NNEB's anymore as they look for NVQ's and BTechs...many are now looking at having staff who are on the degree path as funding will soon become based on the qualification levels of staff!

Also there have been many changes in legislation such as Every Child Matters, new SAfe Guarding and a whole new curriculum now! So it may be worth updating anyway!

You can get qualification now at college part time whilst you work-your experience may get you an assistant job if you say you are willing to train. Or you can go through Open University which is what many already qualified practitioners are now doing-you can get funding in most areas of the country. Also OU you can do at home which is a lot easier for me!

Basically-try to apply to as many places-they'll soon tell you what you need to do!
