AMA Racing Rules?(bike mods)?

I was thinking of racing my RMZ450...

its all stock, but I was thinking of putting on a megabomb on it...

does this follow the AMA racing rules...I was just going to race in a beginner class...stock bike...

but does the megabomb classify as mod or stock?

  1. Personally I've never even heard of a 450 modified or stock class. The only class I know of that they break in to stock and modified is the mini classes.


  2. To make sure what the rules are, go to http://ama-cycle.org and click on the rule book.

  3. yes you can still race with the mega bomb, it is perfectly legal and if you race at your local track they do not put alot of restrictions on riders. have fun. check for a vet x racing org. in your area.

  4. the ama rules state that in the stock class, all bikes must be in stock form.

  5. Not 100% but the stock class means the the engine is stock with no mods. Everything else can be after-market except engine.

    So you should be good to race.
