AMA Superbikes 2009?

I have to ask

How can they run the AMA Superbike series without any real competitors. are they planing to race Harleys and call it a world series. without Honda,Suzuki and Ducati shouldnt they re-think their strategy. to get rid of the 1000cc catagory is just suicidal. all the big j*p companies have 1000cc flag ships. everyone else has bent the rules to allow Ducati to compete.

the whole idea of superbikes is to market the road going version of the superbike. is this all going to prove that its more than money that drives Motorcycle racing ?
