AMERICAM STUDENTS age??

Question

what are the levals of american school, like freshman, junior... ect..

and what is the average age of the people in the different levals.?

i think i know what u r saying, so high school starts off in 9th grade and thats called freshman, then it goes sophomores, then juniors then seniors, and most people that start high school are around 14 and finish at 18 that i the average

Freshman~13-14

Sophmore~14-15/some 16

junior~16-17

senior~17-18

we start kindergarten about age 5 (obviously everyone has birthdays at different times in the year so you can give or take a year to these ages)

1st grade = age 6,   2nd = 7,   3rd = 8,   4th = 9,   5th = 10

and that's elementary school.

6th = 11,   7th = 12,   8th = 13

is middle school and...

9th = 14,   10th = 15,   11th = 16 and 12th = 17

would be high school. Then there's obviously the option of going on to collage.

(these ages can also be different if students are held back or skip grades.)

junior [11th grade.]- 16 or 17.

senior [12th grade.]- 17 or 18.

In America you go to school from K5-12th grade some times K4. K5 and K4  stand for kindergarten for 5 year olds or kindergarten for 4 year olds after that you start 1st grade.  In most parts of the country 1st through 6th grade are considered elementary school.   7th and 8th grade are considered Junior high.  and 9th through 12th grade are high school

high school is broken into 4 levels

freshman  which you would be 14 -15 years old

sophomore which is 15-16 yrs, old

Junior which is 16-17 years old

and Senior which is 17-18 years old

after that you get a job, or go to college or trade school

in other parts of America Junior high is 7th-9th grade and high school starts at the Sophomore level.

Senior in high school ~17-18

Freshman in college can vary but if you go to college straight out of high school it is 18-19, and on up just like for high school.

First preschool... ages 3-4

Second elementary school K-5... ages 5-10

Third middle school 6-8... ages 11-13

Last high school 9-12... ages 14-18
