um i have to do a class debate and the topic is all guns should be banned and im 3rd speaker and we are affermative

i want to kno if any of u are good debaters or kno alot about guns(dodgey) can u help me out please! im desperate

I'm a 3rd speaker. Because the topic syas should, you have to prove tjat you have a moral and practical obligation to ban guns. Practically, you have to say how you are going to achieve it. Yes you could ban guns from being sold, but the black market and the guns already bought won't go.

You have to say morally, that you have an obligation. Like this would stop murders.

Your first speaker could talk about the social aspects (how it helps society) and your second talk economic aspects. Do not talk 1st-Moral and 2nd-Practical.

As 3rd Speaker, you have to first rebut, or say the Opposition is wrong. Listen to their points and then say why it's wrong. If they say for instance, "Guns are not dangerous". then you should say, "The Opposition said that guans are not dangerous. This is wrong because guns are dangerous. (State why)."

I'm pretty good at debates. We used to have them all the time in my British Literature Class. So your debating why all guns should be banned? My suggestion would to check out some of these websites so you can get some key points in your debate..Another suggestion is to make sure all your arguments have structure, and make sure you are prepared for all possible responses so that you can have a factual statement to back up your arguments. Anyways here are some websites with statistics and reasons why guns should be banned. I also included a link to a video on you tube. And links for Wikapedia about the Columbine massacre and the Virginia Tech Massacre which both are major issues involving teens creating havoc with guns..So hope this all helps with you debate!   As you are doing a debate, I'd recommend you watch "Bowling For Columbine" as a bit of ammunition (excuse the pun). It shows what guns are capable of in the hands they shouldn't be. Wait a sec. Shouldn't be? Who should have guns at all? It all gets back to personality. Some people can be very dangerous when carrying a firearm. Dare I say all people are. No man deserves the ability to end another mans life with such ease. When is it Okay to kill? I'm of the belief that If you aren't gonna eat it - then you don't kill it. Look up the world-wide budget on firearms, then look up the total fatalities due to gun shot world wide, then that should give you something they least expect. The Dollar Value of a human life in Gun Terms. I think Counter-Strike gives about $200.

  Bring to your oppositions' attention that you yourself have enemies - we all do - and the emotional impact upon yourself should you find out they have an AK47 in the ceiling.

  Take a look on the net at the African children with machine guns. At least in the days of sword and spear those weilding weapons were obvoius.
