i wana start bodyboarding there....are there many sharks thre,,,wats the chances of sharks,,how can i avoid them?? what happens if i encounter one??? i love the beach and bodyboarding,,but p**s scared of sharks..............lol bad experiences trust me

  1. I'm not sure about those beaches, but since you bodyboard, I would ONLY go out at beaches with shark nets.  The way many locals who surf reduce their chances of shark encounters is to surf only during the day, not in the morning or evening, stay away from breaks where deep water is close by, and if you have a break with a manned spotter tower, all the better.  Also, it you see a seal nearby, get your butt out of the water fast.  If you encounter a shark, make sure your life insurance is paid up and you have named a beneficiary.


  2. Not really, only small ones. Stay away from the rocks....a friend got bit their by a 3ft shark was nothing serious, I went surfing at the same spot just after. It is scary and you're probably very sensible. But its so unlikely...(5yrs of surfing, most of it binge...)
